Biography

Starlyss McSlade joined Emory’s Internal Audit Division in January 2008 as the Executive Administrative Assistant.  In this role, Starlyss manages a range of administrative and specialized tasks, research and projects for the Chief Audit Officer and his Management staff.  She works closely with the Office of the Secretary and Chair to manage the coordination of the Emory University Board of Trustees Audit and Compliance Committee and the Emory Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Committee.

Prior to joining Emory, Starlyss was the Administrative Coordinator to the Deputy Director, Associate Vice Provost for Research at Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) and President of Georgia Tech Ireland for over three years.  At GTRI Starlyss was responsible for a variety of administrative duties,  served as the information and communications manager, and assisted with specials projects that involved High Dignitaries and Chief Executive Officers. She also served as an Administrative Coordinator at Georgia State University Office of the Ombudsperson for two years and Senior Administrative Secretary for the Comptroller in the Accounting Services Department for three years.

Starlyss is also a  published Artist and Designer. She received  her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Commercial Design from Fort Valley State University.  She is certified through Emory University’s Administrative Professionals Program.  Starlyss is a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) - Clifton Corridor Chapter, Society of Administrative Professionals, Professional Association for Design (AIGA) and National Association for Photoshop Professionals (NAPP).
